CONTRACK at TRAKO 2025 Read moreRepresentatives of KZN Contrack and Pekabex have signed a cooperation agreement. Pekabex, a leading manufacturer of prefabricated elements and a provider of comprehensive construction services, will supply prefabricated tram slabs, complementing and expanding the offerings of the Kraków-based KZN Contrack company. However, the CONTRACK production facilities will continue to produce the most structurally complex, large-scale prefabricated slabs for key tram superstructures.
"We are pleased to announce that we have successfully established a partnership with Pekabex, a brand that has enjoyed the trust of customers for years. Supporting a manufacturer with such extensive experience and excellent technical resources means a significant increase in production capacity, enabling us to meet the growing interest in the rapidly developing CONTRACK technology both domestically and internationally," says Grzegorz Leszczyński, President of KZN Contrack and Vice President of the KZN Bieżanów Group, which owns the company. "We look forward to successful cooperation and many joint projects, especially since we share a common goal with Pekabex: to create innovation and ensure the highest quality of our products," adds Ewa Sawicka, member of the KZN Contrack management board.
The KZN Contrack technical facilities will continue to produce the most complex, large-scale turnout slabs, including those with unusual curves, using CONTRACK technology. This applies particularly to slabs located in the traffic control area – they will be manufactured in Krakow and collected together with the turnout system.
Pekabex's support is intended to shorten the lead time from the ordering stage to the delivery of complete turnout nodes – this process is currently estimated at approximately six months.
"This collaboration includes access to four additional prefabrication factories in various locations in Poland and one in Germany. This allows us to tailor part of the prefabrication production to the installation site, which translates to shorter transport distances. We anticipate that our new – joint – capabilities will also translate into more competitive prices for customers. We hope that this will make CONTRACK technology more accessible to cities and their residents who need fast, high-quality construction of strategic transport hubs," adds President Leszczyński.
The contract was signed at Zawiszy Square in Warsaw, where a four-stage renovation of the turnout system is currently underway using CONTRACK technology. This is the first project to partially utilize panels manufactured by Pekabex.
