Professor Henryk Bałuch Award

We are proud to announce that Contrack product manager, Dorota Błaszkiewicz-Juszczeć, together with co-author of the award-winning paper, Łukasz Ślaga, received the Professor Henryk Bałuch Award for their work on the design and implementation of large-scale precast concrete slab technology.

The technology was developed to ensure the highest possible initial durability of the structure while simultaneously quickly restoring traffic. Furthermore, because the precast slabs are manufactured according to a custom design, their shape can be adapted to virtually any geometrical condition of the road and rail system. By using a self-leveling, quick-setting cement mortar beneath the slab, the entire structure forms a monolith, ensuring the structure's tightness, proper operation (vibration resistance), high strength, and frost resistance.

The substantive evaluation of the applications was conducted by a jury appointed by the Scientific Committee of the Association of Transport Engineers and Technicians of the Republic of Poland.
