KZN Bahntechnik expands its implementation map in Germany
KZN Bahntechnik has been supplying railway and tram turnouts and turnout components to the German market since 2015. The company, part of the KZN Bieżanów Group, builds its position based on its own production facilities, engineering expertise, and technical consulting tailored to local requirements.
80 years of experience as the foundation of our offer
KZN Bahntechnik is owned by the KZN Bieżanów Group, a manufacturer with over 80 years of experience in the design and manufacture of turnouts and track infrastructure components. The company's offering includes prefabricated railway and tram turnouts, turnout components, track accessories, and turnout sleepers in standard geometries and custom solutions.
One technological chain, full quality control
Our technological infrastructure enables the entire process to be implemented in a single chain – from concept and design support, through machining and special processes, to trial assembly and technical acceptance. This approach allows for ongoing monitoring of quality parameters and precise adaptation of solutions to specific infrastructure conditions.
The reliability of our processes is confirmed by ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 22163 (IRIS) certifications, as well as Q1 and HPQ approvals, including Deutsche Bahn certifications. KZN Bahntechnik is also a qualified supplier to BVG Berlin. Further confirmation of our responsible approach to business is the EcoVadis Silver Medal, awarded to the KZN Bieżanów Group for its high standards in sustainability, ethics, and social responsibility.
Railway and tram projects
In recent years, the company has been steadily expanding its portfolio, earning the trust of tram and rail operators in both large and small cities. Projects include tram switches and switch components for BVG in Berlin, complete tram switches with composite sleepers in Cologne, and infrastructure projects in Hanover, Ulm, and Bremen.
Collaborative operating model
Thanks to the comprehensive structure of the KZN Bieżanów Group, the company relies on close cooperation between the design office in Bochum and the production facilities in Poland. This model ensures direct contact with German investors and contractors while simultaneously controlling production processes and the quality of deliveries.
CONTRACK – a new approach to tram prefabrication
The group's experience enables the introduction of new solutions for modern, durable, and safe infrastructure. An example is CONTRACK – a technology for prefabricating large-scale turnout slabs, crossings, and entire tram junctions, which shortens construction time and minimizes disruption to city traffic. This solution has proven effective in Poland's largest cities. For example, the technology was used in the construction of a key turnout junction in Warsaw, reducing construction time to just five weeks.
